2025 Summer Camps And Activities For Havasu Youth Abound

The end of the school year is just around the corner, which means families will be looking for activities and camps to keep them entertained during the summer break.

RiverScene Magazine has a guide below that lists local summer camps, events  and classes taking place during the summer months. Some are free, and others include a fee. If you don’t see your event listed please send us your event.

Summer Camps

Sunshine Kids Summer Camp hosted by  Lake Havasu Parks And Recreation

The Sunshine Kids Summer Camp is for children entering first through sixth grade in the fall of 2024. Program will run from June 3 to July 19, Monday through Friday, from  7:30 a.m., with children to be picked up by 5:30 p.m., each day. The Program is at Havasupai Elementary School and Oro Grande Classical Academy.

Children will participate in a variety of activities such as gym games, crafts, imagination play, field trips and more. Lunch will be provided at no charge courtesy of the USDA. An afternoon snack will also  be provided or participants may bring their own. Cost is $305 for first child and $246 for each additional child. Limited scholarships are available to those who apply prior to registration and are approved.

Registration can be completed beginning Friday May 16, at 8 a.m. Camp will be closed on July 4 and 5, in observance of Independence Day.

Church/Religious Camps

Mount Olive Lutheran Church will host a summer celebration like no other — YEE-HAW VBS — and will need your help to make it a rip-roarin’ success!
Mount Olive Lutheran Church invites families to “Yee-Haw” — a 3-day VBS event where kids’ll kick up their heels as they stampede through the wild frontier and celebrate the greatest truth of all: God is good! They’ll round up a whole herd of friends and discover that Jesus is God’s greatest gift. Each day wraps up with Closing Corral — a high-energy worship time that gets everyone involved.

Camp dates are Friday, June 20 – Sunday, June 22.

Friday & Saturday: 6:00 PM – 8:30 PM
and Sunday: 12:00 PM – 2:30 PM.  Location: Mount Olive Lutheran Church, 2170 Havasupai Blvd, Lake Havasu City, AZ. For more information or to sign up call (928) 855-2299.

Hilltop Church

Hilltop Church  invites all third through sixth graders to join them at Hilltop for their “Chaos City,” where noone knows what will happen next. Camp runs from May 27 through 29, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day, for only $20. Camp location is: 3180 McCulloch Blvd. N, Lake Havasu City, AZ 86403.

 

 

Calvary Kids  Summer Camp

Kids can participate in a Wild Rock  camp which is a five-day camp,  specifically designed for kids. It is a safe place where students learn about God through age-appropriate teaching, engaging worship, and time outdoors in his creation. This camp is geared for students entering fourth, fifth and sixth grade.

Camp runs July 13 – 18. Participants will depart from the Sweetwater Campus on Sunday afternoon and return on Friday.

The cost for camp is $560 per child. A deposit of $100 per student is due upon registration. Final payments are due June 23.

Calvary Baptist Church Junior High Camp

This summer Calvary Baptist is partnering with UCYC to host a summer camp that students won’t want to miss. The week will be packed with fun activities, competition, worship, and an incredible set of messages meant to engage your student and help them grow closer to Jesus. Jr High Summer Camp will be June 22-27, at UCYC in Prescott. Particpants will leave and return from the Calvary Sweetwater Campus.

The cost for camp is $500 per student. A deposit of $100 per student is due upon registration. Final payments are due June 30. If you would like to apply for a scholarship, please click here: Scholarship Requests

Calvary High School Summer Road Trip 2025

Calvary Baptist church is hosting a High School Road Trip! This year, participants will  head out for an adventure filled with faith, fun, and friendship. Over the course of five days, students can have the oportunity to travel together, explore new places, dive into God’s Word, and experience powerful worship and meaningful conversations.

This trip is designed to help students anchor their faith in the midst of life’s storms, with a focus on finding peace in Christ no matter what comes their way. Along the journey, there will be activities, deep discussions, and plenty of opportunities to grow closer to God and each other.

July 20-24 – Depart Sunday afternoon and return Thursday late evening.

Footlite has dance camps for ages 3 and up.
From magical Princess and Moana/Maui camp for ages 3–5, to high-energy jazz, hip hop, pop (and everything in between!) for ages 6+, plus barre, Latin cardio, tap, and more for adults!

Ballet Havasu “Passport Around The world” Youth Camp

Join Ballet Havasu for a week-long global adventure at Ballet Havasu. Each day, campers will “travel” to a different country—like Australia, Mexico, Russia, Egypt, Iceland, and the USA—through dance, games, crafts, and culture!

Kids will enjoy ballet and dances from around the world, Themed crafts and creative activities Interactive games and challenges, Storytelling and cultural tales Snacks inspired by each country
6–8 years old. The Cost is $125  and includes activities, crafts, snacks, and take-home surprises.

Educational Camps

MCC College For Kids Summer Camps – Mohave Community College-Lake Havasu City Campus

College for Kids is back this year at Lake Havasu City, Mohave Community College. Hours are 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., and includes lunch and snacks. Fee is $135.00

Ages are 8-10 and 11-12 years, sessions are Monday through Thursday camp begins in the month of June. Some classes we will have include: Lego life lessons, Tech Camp, Art Adventure Camp,  Creative  writing, Career exploration camps and more!

Preschool Story Time in June (ages 3-5) Mohave County Library-Lake Havasu City Branch

Every wednesday at 10:30 a.m., inside Community Room A/B . Read a story and make a craft. New theme each week runs through the Summer.  All children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult.
All Library Programs are free and open to the public.

Free kids Summer Movie Series

Star Cinemas

Star Cinemas will offer Free Kids Movies Monday through Thursday beginning, June through July  at 10 a.m. Free for kids and families. For more information, call star cinemas at 928-764-2001. Star cinemas is located at the Shops of Havasu at  5601 AZ-95, Lake Havasu City, AZ 86404

Movies Havasu

Movies Havasu, located at 180 Swanson Ave., will offer free movie viewing for kids  every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, beginning  June through mid July at 10 a.m. Free for kids and families. For more information and complete schedule call 928-453-0055.
