The 9th Annual Pond Hopper Nation and 4 To 4 Ever, children and family fishing event was hosted Saturday at Windsor 4, with about 200 children participating.
The title sponsor was Anderson Toyota and featured an array of vendor tables related to fishing information. Other sponsors included the Elks Fishing Club, Anglers United, the Lake Havasu City Parks and Recreation Department, Boat Brokers, AZ Game and Fish and AZ State Parks.
The Elks Fishing Club sponsored three catch tanks full of blue gill in which the children could catch a fish.
Elk’s members also assisted by teaching the children the basics of fishing.
Friday, a fishing event was hosted for community members with all abilities, adults and children included.
“We had 40 adaptive adults fishing yesterday (Friday) afternoon,” according to John Burns, an Elks Lodge volunteer.
“Today (Saturday) we’ll have about 200 kids come through.”
As part of the program, the first 200 children attending in need of a fishing rod received a complimentary rod and reel.
Here are some photos of the event.
