Lake Havasu City moved one step closer to the big prize in America’s Best Communities competition today.
After pitches at the ABC Summit, held in Durham, N.C., Lake Havasu was chosen as one of the top eight out of 15 finalists.
The top eight finalists were given a check for $100,000 and will have 11 months to implement their Vision 20/20 plan. They will then present their data and metrics to a panel of judges and will place in three teams. The top three towns will receive $3 million for first place, $2 million for second place and $1 million for third place.
Representatives from Lake Havasu included Mayor Mark Nexsen, Lisa Krueger, Cal Sheehy, James Gray, Charlie Cassens, Matt Kross and Nello Ruscitti.
