A sure sign that school is about to begin again is the annual Havasu Stick’Em event hosted by the Havasu Community Health Foundation.

Foundation partners the Kiwanis and Rotary clubs, along with the city, give parents an opportunity to make sure their students are ready in every way for the first day of school.

Required immunizations, sports physicals and more are offered at the event that happened at the Aquatic Center today from 8 a.m. to noon. In addition, eye and dental exams were provided.

Sunrise Rotary provided free breakfast for parents and their kids, and the Rotary clubs gave youngsters free helmets for protection while riding bikes, skateboarding and scooters.

Students in the Lake Havasu Unified School District go back to school Monday. Motorists should be aware that the speed limit in school zones is 15 mph.
