Lake Havasu City’s annual Run to the Sun “Main Street Gathering” featured vintage, restored and hot-rod cars lining Main Street on Thursday.
Some car owners began lining up at Bridgewater Links Golf Course late on Wednesday evening to set up in the morning, with Gayle Beckman starting the line at 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday, and Joe Merola, Steve Wood and Mike Weatherwax following at midnight.

Wednesday morning, car owners then sprinted to mark their favorite spot on the golf course. A small canon is brought in and fired off to signal the opening of gates.
This event kicks off the Relics and Rods Run to the Sun “Show and Shine.” More than 800 vintage vehicles come to Lake Havasu every year to participate in one of the largest car shows in the Southwest.
Run to the Sun “Show and Shine” will take place on Friday and Saturday at Bridgewater Links Golf Course, with admission price of $15 for a two-day pass.
Don’t miss out on the showcasing of these hundreds of classic, restored and hot-rod cars and trucks.
