For those looking for unique, one-of-a-kind bar stools, Legendz Sports Bar and Gill was the place to be Nov. 12.

And then only the highest bidder would take home the beautiful bar stools at the sixth annual Bar Stool Auction hosted by Havasu Area Public Art, a nonprofit formed in 2015.

HAPA was formed by a group in Lake Havasu City to promote the installation and placement of public art.

Several projects have been installed around the area including murals, sculptures and more.

The Bar Stool Auction helps fund projects HAPA sponsors to enhance the art presence in the city.

“We made (more than) $5,000,” said Pam Reinke, local artist and HAPA member.

She said there were 19 barstools and a metal photo up for auction including three entries from Reinke’s art studio students.

One stool submitted by a former Reinke student now living in Flagstaff studying art was auctioned off for $500. Her mom had the winning bid, Reinke said. “Fox In Foliage” was the student’s third bar stool submission.

A movie-themed stool submitted by Mia Beyers and Maya Dolan – both 10th-graders – brought in $300.

Reinke’s own “My Life as a Landscape” brought in a whopping $675.

Reinke said this year’s quality of work on the bar stools was some of the best submitted to the auction.

Gary Kellogg served as auctioneer.
