It’s that time of year when anyone who walks around the desert areas in Lake Havasu City that vivid – nearly neon – colors are nearly everywhere.
Crystal Beach is afire with white and California evening primrose, pink desert sand verbena, silky lupine and so many more blooms that have signaled a spring bonanza of color thanks to an abundance of moisture over the past several weeks.
When the desert blooms, the tan/brown hue that prevails during winter vanishes and a wash of color redefines perception.
Get out there and explore the beauty of the Mohave Desert and enjoy the beautiful, bright colors of the indigenous plants.
Just remember, some of those beauties’ have bites that leave a mark. Avoid scorpion weed – a plant with a pretty purple flower that is prolific in Lake Havasu City.
Here are some pictures from Crystal Beach.
Looks like you took a photo looking out from my backyard! Every other year it looks like this. Thanks for identifying the flowering weeds
