The Arizona’s Children Association S.T.A.R. Program received a $5,000 donation from the Women with Willpower organization in support of this year’s annual Children’s Holiday party which has been held in Lake Havasu City since 2008.
The association’s annual event is supported by community businesses and volunteers to provide a safe, fun and supportive event for children in the S.T.A.R. Program.
The S.T.A.R. Program, which is an acronym for Skills, Training and Respite, offers a variety of behavioral health services to support youth and families Services aim to reduce caregiver stress, and to build skills and resiliency in youth. . The STAR program offers a variety of recreational and experiential learning opportunities for youth, which are tailored to individual needs and interests. Some activities your child may engage in include hiking, playing games, going to the library, participating in community events, and sometimes attending movies.
Frontier Communications is a major corporate supporter of the annual program and has been supporting the event since it began. A new supporter this year is RiverScene Magazine and its staffers will be volunteering during the party.
