AZAK Hosts Havasu On The Rocks Debut Saturday Morning

AZAK Event Co. hosted its first Havasu on the Rocks inaugural 7K and 13K race at SARA Park Saturday morning.

This event included a 7K run, 13K run to Pilot Rock, and a Half Marathon.

Almost 220 runners attended from many different states, many traveling long distances to participate in the race.

Tony Rivello, Event Organizer, said, “This is an inaugural event because we’ve added a half marathon. We’ve had an incredible response.”

The new components of the event saw many first-time runners making their racing debut, showing that the event is growing.

“About 45 percent of our runners are from outside of Lake Havasu, so overwhelmed with the response. Very pleased with how well the event is going and I just couldn’t be happier,” Rivello said.

The influx of runners from outside of Lake Havasu shows the traction that AZAK is getting.

For this event, Rivello passed his Race Director duties to his son and AZAK Events partner Anthony Rivello. This allowed for Tony Rivello to participate in the race, even placing first in the 13K.

Dan Kuch, local, set a course record with a time of 1:38:01 for the Half Marathon.
