Saturday morning is special at The Clothes Closet in Lake Havasu City.
From 8:30 to 11:30 a.m., the annual Back to School Care Fair will be hosted by The Clothes Closet to benefit Lake Havasu students in grades K-12.
Students may present their student IDs to receive free backpacks, school shirts, new socks, one pair of new sneakers, school supplies and more.

Clothes Closet creator Christine Buntemeyer said, “Basically, all they need is their ID. Everything is free. Last year, we had 528 people come through the event.”
Buntemeyer cautioned that backpack distribution will be monitored so that students cannot pick up backpacks at numerous locations.
“They can get a free meal, and they can always come back for other items. Everything is free,” she said.
Sponsors of the event include Anderson Auto and Powersports, Lake Havasu Kiwanis Club, Lake Havasu Republican Women’s Club, Havasu Regional Medical Center, Partnership Resources, Young Adult Development Association of Havasu, Child and Family Resources, Hilltop Community Church, Arizona Work, Hickory Recover Network and Pregnancy Care Center of Lake Havasu City.
Clothes Closet Inc., strives to provide free clothing, and to be a place of restoring hope, worthiness, respect and dignity by utilizing existing relationships and accessing other community resources to further help individuals and families obtain needed services.
The Clothes Closet is located at 1968 Mesquite Ave.
