The 37-year-old tradition of the Lake Havasu City Boat Parade of Lights unfolded beneath the London Bridge in the Bridgewater Channel Saturday night.
Spectators lined both sides of the Channel as the more than 80 entries floated by. The iconic Dixie Belle joined the parade again this year after being fully restored to all her glory.
Under new organizer JJ Gibbs, in addition to the parade, the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office chased the Grinch out of the Channel insisting that no more Christmas joy was to be stolen.
Awards were as follows:
Best Of Show: No. 8, Dennis and Susan Skelton Bockman, $5,000
Judges Choice: No. 16, Kelsy Hansen and Tesia Hansen, $1,500
Best Corporate Entry: No. 52, Rebel BBQ, $1,000
Best Family Entry: No. 41, Bree Luebke and Family, $1,000
Best Power Boat Entry: No. 60, The Smith’s ECS Mechanical, $1,000
Best First Time Entry: No. 67, Bill Wilson and Family/Wilson Creek Winery, $500
Wildcard Pick: Team TC Freeride, $500
