Starline Elementary School second-graders released butterflies into the sky Friday morning after studying them in the classroom. Funding for the caterpillars was donated by the Lake Havasu City Elks Lodge 2399.
Students then observed the caterpillars as they turned into butterflies over time.
When the butterflies were ready, the students released them on the playground and one student was overheard saying “goodbye friends” as the butterflies flew free.
The students were guided on their scientific journey by teachers Amy Romm, Lori Felish and Marie Kirvin.
Thank you for your time and patience with the students and the butterflies. Thank you for your time, you are always so kind! Ms Kervin and Starline
