A chance to fit in a morning walk or run and have some fun with color can be found at the third annual Color Your Sole 5k Run this Saturday.

The event, hosted by the Lake Havasu Chamber of Commerce, is open to all ages, business groups and families, at any fitness level. The 5k also adds a bit of fun by covering participants with powdered color as they run or walk throughout the course.

“This is a family friendly event,” said Jeni Coke with the Lake Havasu Chamber of Commerce. This year we will have one extra color station and a pre-event color bomb.”

Color Your Sole is in its third year, and began after Coke participated in a similar event out-of-state.

“People like the opportunity to get out and do something out of the ordinary. I participated in a similar event in Las Vegas and that’s when I decided to do one here.”

You may register in person at the Lake Havasu Area Chamber of Commerce office, online or you may register the day at the event but T-shirts and goodie bags will be limited on a first come first serve basis.

The 5k will take place from 8 a.m. to noon at Rotary Community Park located at 1400 S. Smoketree Ave.

The registration fee for individuals is $40, $25 for students 12-17 years old, $35 per person for a group of 4 or more and $10 for children 11 and under.
