Buddy the Elf is set to make his way through Lake Havasu City via Grace Arts Live’s community theatre stage for the next three weekends. “Elf, The Musical” is based on the beloved holiday film “Elf” that follows the life mishaps, adventures and travels of Buddy the Elf.
According to the theater’s website, the story follows Buddy the Elf in his quest for his true identity. As a young orphan, Buddy is mistakenly transported to the North Pole as a stowaway in Santa’s bag of gifts.
It is there, at the North Pole, that he is raised as an elf despite being human. By comparison, his enormous size and poor toy-making abilities cause him to face his misfit truth. With Santa’s permission, Buddy travels to New York City in search of his birth father.
Faced with the harsh realities that his birth father is on Santa’s daunting naughty list, and his half-brother doesn’t believe in the magic of Santa, Buddy is determined to win over his new family. And help the Big Apple remember the true meaning of Christmas – spreading some Christmas cheer.
Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays during the weekends of Dec. 6-8, Dec. 13-15, and Dec. 20-22.
