The London Bridge Beard and Mustache Competition is the oldest continued community event in Lake Havasu City. It will be held under the bridge during London Bridge Days Saturday, October 18th. This historic nonprofit event is designed to offer free entertainment to the whole family while raising funds for The Kids on the Colorado River educational program, a nonprofit organization. Spectators are invited to bring their lawn chairs down and cheer on their favorite competitors.

The event has now been upgraded to include national competitors and a new women’s category highlighting imitation beards and mustaches made from a variety of creative colorful materials. There are 11 categories.

Judging: 12:00pm to 3:00pm
Five experienced judges are assembled on stage to judge each contestant on a variety of competitive guidelines used nationally to determine their individual score. After each contestant has been evaluated for his or her score, the judge’s score sheets are collected, and scores are tallied to determine the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners in each category.

Awards: 3:30pm to 5:00pm
During the last hour of the event, the winners of each category are invited back on stage, introduced to the audience and given their awards. First Place Winners will have their names placed in stone under the London Bridge for life! They will also receive a custom-made stone slate award and be guests aboard the historic Dixie Belle paddle wheeler for a fun filled sunset cruise on Lake Havasu the evening of the event (weather permitting). There will also be awards for 2nd and 3rd Place Winners.

Contestant Fees:
• $35 online registration and payment prior to the event date
• $45 the day of the event cash or check

This one-of-kind FREE opportunity is hosted by the Flying X Saloon here in Lake Havasu City and sponsored by the Lake Havasu Boat Patrol and Britton Auto Truck and RV Repair.

What The Men Can Expect: 11:00am to 2:00pm
• Jacob Trost, a trained professional, will offer select audience members the opportunity to come up and experience a beard or mustache transformation. Jacob will take you and the audience through this easy to understand step-by-step transformation process giving you that cutting edge to be a professional contender in any competition.
• All hair products and salon equipment are provided.

What The Women Can Expect: 2:30pm to 5:00pm
• Emily Engler Diver, a trained professional “Whiskerina,” will provide the audience with a demonstration on how to make a “homemade beard or mustache” made from a variety of fun and colorful materials. She will take you and the audience through this easy-to-understand step-by-step creative process, giving you that cutting edge to be a professional contender in any competition.
• All construction and assembly materials will be provided.
