The legendary town of Tombstone, made famous by the Gunfight at the OK Corral, was founded in 1879 by prospector Ed Schieffelin. It became one of the last boomtowns in the West and has become a major attraction in Arizona.
Tombstone is 385 driving miles from Lake Havasu City, which should take a little more than six hours.
Recently, RiverScene Magazine’s Julie and Tyanna Wilson took a road trip to Tombstone to take in all the history it contains. From Wyatt Earp to Doc Holliday, it’s all there.
While in Tombstone, be sure to check out The Birdcage Theater, gunfights and the saloons made famous over the decades.
Here is a video they shot commemorating their trip.
