Fighting cancer is hard. Fighting cancer is expensive. Fighting cancer is all consuming.
Those who find themselves in such a tough position have many avenues of support in the Lake Havasu City area.
One of those nonprofit organizations that focuses on helping families fighting cancer is Denise’s Day.
And Denise’s Day recently received a helping hand from the Red Iron MC with a generous donation.
“We are a nonprofit that donates to families that are fighting cancer. We try to stay in our surrounding area of Lake Havasu and Parker,” Denise’s Day president Heather Springman said. She said the organization is operated strictly by volunteers.
“We collect different donations and give them out to families in need so when they’re going through what they’re going through, they don’t have to worry about paying a bill,” she said.
Bo Bryson is the president of Red Iron MC.
“We’re a local 501c3 and we help out local families, children with cancer. In unison with that, we try to work with other local 501c3s and one of the great greatest ones in town of course is Denise’s Day,” Bryson said.
“They help out all sorts of families including children and adults. They’re out there fighting the same battles we are and when they need something we want them to know we’ve got their back. That’s what we’re here for today,” he said.
The club presented Denese’s Day with a check for $2,500.
“It helps with what they’re challenged with and helps them through helping families in the community.’ Bryson said.
