Lake Havasu City children got to shop for Christmas gifts for their families, thanks to some very special elves on Saturday morning.

“Shop With a Cop” is an annual event at which Lake Havasu City police officers take local children shopping at Walmart for the Christmas season.

The morning started off with breakfast at The Shops at Lake Havasu, then a tour of police vehicles and motorcycles. After that, 16 officers and 35 volunteers, including the LHHS Key Club and Walmart employees, took the children shopping at Walmart.

They each got to pick out a toy for themselves and then pick out presents for brothers, sisters and parents, courtesy of LHCPD.

Here are photos from the event.
