The Havasu Stingrays Swim Team recently completed it short-course season and now the athletes begin the long-course season.

Here is a recap of the results of the tournaments.

Carson Blair qualified for six events in the 12 and under level at the Regional Championship in Chandler, Feb. 21-23, which qualified him for Age Group State Championships in Oro Valley, March 6-9.

Blair made his state cut in the 100 breaststroke. He swam in nine events, achieving six bests. Blair’s finishes were 100  IM 4th Place Final; 100 BR 1st Place Final; 100 BK 7th Place Final and 200 BR 1st Place Final.

Austin Bergen, in the same age group, swam personal bests in  three of three events.

Andrew Murphy also achieved personal bests in three out of three events with a sixth-place final in the 50 fly.

Kadey Batista swam in the nine events of which eight were personal bests. She had a six-place final in the 50 FR.

Brianna Baumkirchner swam four events for four personal bests.

In the 13 and over group, Bradley Brown made his state cut with a first-place finish in the 100 breaststroke, swimming four events for four personal bests.

Brown swam four events with four personal bests – a first place A Final in the 200 Fly, and a third place A Final in the 50 FR.

Swimming six events with four personal bests, Aubrey  Vessells took third place A Final in the 100 FR, 500 FR third place A Final, 100 FR, fourth place A Final, 100  FLY third place A Final, and 50 FR seventh place A Final.

Peyton Reeves swam six for six – six events and six personal bests. Reeves finished eighth in the 100 BR Place B Final and 12th-place in the 500 FR.

Madilyn Sondrol swam in the four events with three bests. She finishted 10th in the 500 FR and sixth in the 200 FR.

Swimming in seven events with three personal bests, Anna Bengard finished second in the 200 BK B Final, Third Place B Final; Eighth Place A Final 100 BR.

Randy Boolen swam in four events with two personal bests.

The Short Course State Finals  were held Feb. 27 through March 2, in Mesa.

Two Stingrays qualified for senior state in Mesa.

Aubrey Vessells swam in 200 Back and 100 Back. Bradley Brown swam in the 100 Fly and 100 Back.
