Each year, the Keller Williams real estate company gives back to its individual local communities. Thursday was Red Day in Lake Havasu City and agents were working hard to make giving back fun. RED Day is an initiative dedicated to celebrating Keller Williams Realty’s year-round commitment to improving local communities, according to the Keller Williams website.
Nationwide Keller Williams on May 11 does a RED Day,” Cindy Dionne said.
Dionne is an agent with Keller Williams and she said RED stands for Renew, Energize and Donate.
What that means is we give where we live. So, every year on this day, our market center here in Lake Havasu picks a different project and we donate back to our community for all the success they give us as real estate agents,” Dionne said.
Local agents were joined Thursday by Stephen Popper, executive director of Meals of Hope, out of Florida.
According to the Meals of Hope website, the organization got its start in 2007 when a family friend asked for Popper’s help shipping food to a poor school in Haiti. Although there was no doubt about this worthwhile endeavor, Popper felt strongly that there was also a need for such efforts closer to home.
We are packaging 20,000 meals of macaroni and cheese that will stay in Lake Havasu City with Interagency being our donation source. They’re here today as well packing. We’re going to load ‘em up and they will have lots of food to give back to the community,” Dionne said.
There were about 60 Keller Williams agents on hand Thursday.
Everybody wears red shirts and it can say RED Day on them and have their team names. This is our annual event and we love giving back to our community,” Dionne said.
