The Back to School Bash, sponsored by First Things First and hosted by the Lake Havasu Museum of History Thursday brought children, parents and grandparents out.
Museum volunteers helped the kids with projects and presented volcano demonstrations, explained petroglyphs and pictographs. Kids could make egg-carton turtles and adopt a rock. On their way out, they received “mystery” rocks and First Things First’s Erin Taylor made sure they were given books and “brains” to take home to remember their trip to the museum.
Special thanks to museum volunteers Dick and Jenny Anderson, Karen and Tom Crager, Becky Freybarger, Nellie Smith, Phyllis Wagner, Butch Wood and Yvonne Litchfield.
The Summer Fun for Kids exhibit will continue at the museum through most of August.
The museum is located at 320 London Bridge Road. Admission is $7.50 for adults. Kids 12 and under are admitted free.
