Lake Havasu Area Chamber of Commerce honored local teachers and celebrated education throughout the city during its 16th annual Teacher Appreciation event at the London Bridge Resort Convention Center Wednesday evening.
Lisa Krueger, Lake Havasu Area Chamber of Commerce president and CEO, said as many as 200 were expected to turn out for the event.

“We’re here to bring business and education in the community together,” Krueger said. “This is designed to appreciate local educators. It strengthens that bond so we all can support each other.”
A number of sponsors donated items and gift baskets that filled at least half-dozen booths during the event. The goodies were doled out as giveaways and raffle-ticket prizes.
The event is to honor and appreciate local educators from schools including Lake Havasu Unified District’s public school, Havasu Preparatory Academy, Telesis Preparatory Academy, Mohave Community College, Northern Arizona University and Arizona State University.
