A sea of red, white and blue American flags lined McCulloch Boulevard, as the Lake Havasu community welcomed veterans and parade participants with cheers and waves at the Annual Veteran’s Day Parade Friday.
The parade was led by the Marine Corp League and organized by the Local Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 9401. Every Veteran’s Day, the VFW joins the community to honor many servicemen and servicewomen for their sacrifices and for serving under many tough circumstances.
“This is our second year watching the parade We just love it. Havasu is absolutely the best at honoring the vets and being so supportive,” said Lake Havasu City resident and spectator Tami Williams.
The parade also included vets from the Lake Havasu City Police and Fire departments along with the Mohave County Sheriffs and many more organizations who support veterans. Mayor Cal Sheehy and Council Member David Lane along with Arizona State Senator and veteran Sonny Borelli, were also in attendance.
A ceremony took place at Wheeler Park following the parade. All veterans were treated to free hotdogs and hamburgers at the VFW on London Bridge Road.
