Boxes of Thin Mints, Lemon-Ups and Trefoils are just some of the tasty cookies that local Junior Girl Scouts and Cadets, donated to the Lake Havasu City Military Moms organization at the London Bridge Resort Wednesday night.
Each year local girl scouts gather the cookies that are often donated back to them, and in turn they donate them to the Lake Havasu City Military Moms organization. The boxes will later be shipped in care packages for service men and women by the group.
“It will probably be in the next couple of weeks, when we will pack them up and send them to troops from here who are currently deployed,” said Cindy Ritter, President of Lake Havasu City Military Moms.
Lake Havasu City Military Moms is a local nonprofit organization and support group for families and mothers of military service members. The organization also supports all veterans and active troops in need in Lake Havasu City and surrounding areas.
“We send all flavor Girl Scout cookies to our deployed troops, even if the thin mint cookies get a little smudged or stuck together along the way, we find that those are usually their favorite,” Ritter said.
