Lake Havasu City schools welcomed students back after summer break Thursday morning and kicked off the new school year.
To make the first day of class a bit smoother, many families at Starline Elementary were able to meet their teachers at a back-to-school night meet and greet event before the first day of school where they also had the opportunity to drop off school supplies and tour their classrooms.

Other schools outside of the Lake Havasu Unified School District, including Telesis Preparatory Academy and Our Lady of The Lake Catholic school also began classes today. Calvary Christian Academy and Havasu Preparatory Academy started on Wednesday.
The Lake Havasu City Fire and Police Departments visited each of the schools on the first day. According to the Lake Havasu City Municipal Government Facebook page, “The initiative aims to show support for learning and provides a fantastic opportunity for children and staff to interact with our dedicated firefighters and police officers.”
