There were 16 football players and five band members honored Friday during Senior Night at Lake Havasu High School’s Lee Barnes Stadium. Each senior made a final ceremonious walk accompanied by family and friends throughout the night, with football players at the beginning of the game and the band members at half-time.
As the football players made their last walk onto the LHHS field, a recording of each player was piped into the field’s sound system. The recordings were the senior’s final words of appreciation to moms, dads, step-parents, coaches and others who’ve mentored, nurtured or inspired their successes thus far. At half-time, each senior band member had their moment when the announcer read their own final words as they were escorted in front of the stadium’s grand stands.
The Fighting Knights left it all on the field Friday night with a five-touchdown game. Their efforts dominated the Avondale Agua Fria Owls with a final of 35-14. The win left the Knights at 3-7 for the overall season.
