Lake Havasu City Air Force Airman first class veteran Gary R. Piekaar was honored last Monday with the presentation of a Quilt of Valor.

The Lake Havasu City chapter of the Quilts of Valor Foundation – Stitching for Patriots – presented the quilt.

Piekaar was nominated by Chrissy Lin through the Stonebridge Veterans group, a program under the Havasu Community Health Foundation.

The mission of Quilts of Valor, according to its website, is to “cover service members and veterans touched by war with comforting and health Quilts of Valor.”
