London Fog Cools Outdoor Havasu

It’s no secret that Lake Havasu City is known for its toasty temperatures. It’s no joke and everyone does whatever they can to cool it down.

Five years ago, Jeff Smith and his family relocated from the Palm Springs area to Lake Havasu after visiting for years.

“My family and I had a park model at the Beachcomber for nine years and we would spend the entire summer there,” Smith said.

“We loved Havasu so much, that we started spending a lot of time there during the whole year, not just the summer. There were so many fun events year round. We eventually decided that this is where we belonged. So we moved here full time in June of 2017.”

Smith had worked as a welder installer for more than 20 years for a misting company in the Palm Springs, Calif., area, but when he came to Lake Havasu, the owner of the company encouraged him to open his own business. “Although I am fairly new to Havasu, I have several years of experience,” he said.

Smith opened London Fog Outdoor Cooling Solutions.

“My business specializes in mist systems. I custom fabricate each mist system for each job.”
The company specializes in custom misting systems for residential, commercial and new construction installs.

For more than five years, London Fog has designed and installed high pressure misting systems in the Lake Havasu area. The systems include basic patio misters to the most complex outdoor cooling systems. All the products are manufactured in house in Lake Havasu.

The company’s website stresses its commitment to excellence and quality. Each client is presented with the best solutions for their cooling system.

London Fog is a family affair.

“I have three sons, Adam, Jake and Gage,” Smith said.

Adam, who is 24, works as the lead installer for the company in California that I worked for and comes out to Havasu to help me with bigger projects such as the Naked Turtle remodel at the Nautical.

Jake, who is 19, is a student at ASU and helps me do all of the installs and service calls.

Gage, who is 16, is a student and football player at LHHS and helps me do tests on all of the stainless steel lines after I weld them,” Smith said.

“My sons are my only employees by design. It helps to ensure the uniform high quality work as well as being able to give a personal service to my clients.”

Smith’s wife, Stacy, is also a part of the business. She is a full-time Registered Nurse and his “biggest supporter and in her free time, she does marketing for the business.”
