What has been called “The Biggest Party on the Parker Strip” was the center of attention last weekend on the Colorado River.

The 46th annual Parker Tube Float Saturday set sail from Buckskin Mountain State Park June 8 at 8 a.m.

Park Manager Deb Reinert said, “We at Buckskin Mountain State Park are proud to be a part of this event. Everything ran smooth on our end.”

Reinert said because of volunteers and staff, the event went off without a hitch.

“And Melissa (Newton – Executive Director of the Parker Area Chamber of Commerce and Tourism) puts in a ton of hard work.

“From buses to fuzzle tubes, trash and more, the day went smooth. The weather was great,” she said.

Parker Area Chamber director Melissa Newton said, “It was an amazing day and the support we got from everyone was terrific. I thank all the law enforcement volunteers that help keep everyone safe and it was a great event.”

She said the event was seamless. “I appreciate everyone who came and floated with us and I hope they had an amazing day as well.”

More than 3,400 people participated in the event which is a fundraiser for the Chamber.

The three-mile float ends at La Paz County Park. A post-float party was hosted by Pirate’s Den.
