Press Release-Frontier America’s Best Communities Vision 20/20 Team Members from Pillar 4 -Water, toured the Desert Botanical Gardens in Phoenix Dec. 21.
One of the team’s tasks is to research and develop a program for a water focused ecological and environmental learning center for all ages in Lake Havasu City.
The team has visited multiple facilities to date including Veterans Oasis Park in Chandler, the Riparian Preserve at Water Ranch in Gilbert, the Nina Mason Pulliam Rio Salado Audubon Center and South Mountain Environmental Education Center in Phoenix.
The team will reconnect after the holidays to begin the design process for the “Lower Colorado River Water and Environmental Learning Center” to be located on the 280 acres of land located a Havasu Riviera.
As it is imagined, the facility will offer public day-use amenities, a desert botanical garden and walking trails, multi-purpose rooms for educational purposes and areas designed to support the research and the study of water quality, wastewater reclamation, the Colorado River and life in the desert southwest.
