Qs and Brews Bighorn BBQ Competition Underway At MCC Today

For some tasty BBQ and cold brews and to support a great cause, the Qs And Brews Bighorn BBQ Competition is the place to be today at Mohave Community College, Lake Havasu Campus.

“We are here raising money for the Mohave Community College Scholarship Fund,” said Lynda Kristoffersen, participant and member of the Kansas City BBQ Society. “I chose to participate at the college because I am a retired teacher and believe in education.”

Admission is free and spectators can enjoy live music from CrossCutt and cold brews from Grapes and Grains alongside several vendors. Tickets for food “Sip and Savor ” tastings, are also available with prices beginning at $3 for food and alcohol. After 2 p.m., $20 buys 10 BBQ tastings.

The event runs until 4 p.m., at Mohave Community College, located at 1977 W. Acoma Blvd., Lake Havasu City. Winners of the BBQ competition will be announced at 4 p.m.
