Since 2010 when Denise’s Day was realized, the local fundraiser has been aiding those in our community living with cancer. This fundraiser honors the memory of Denise Madrid who lost her battle with cancer, but her positive spirit and courage lives on with Denise’s Day.
On Sept. 22, the Red Iron Motorcycle club donated $2,500 to Denise’s Day at Printing Plus, received by representatives Michelle Pounders and Heather Springman.
“We’re honored to support families in our community who are battling cancer. Relationships with clubs like Red Iron Motorcycle Club make it possible for our foundation to carry out its mission,” Springman said.
“Our 501(c)(3) is really based on helping out all the local children in Mohave County with cancer,” said Bo Bryson, president of Red Iron Motorcycle Club. “We’re taking the opportunity to help out a fellow 501(c)(3) with their challenges.”
These funds mean that Denise’s Day can continue to help families struggling with the costs of treatments, travel and other financial burdens associated with cancer care where insurance companies cannot.
Other motorcycle club members in attendance were vice president “Eazy,” treasurer “Blu,” Sgt. at Arms “Knuckles,” and secretary “Sparky.”
Red Iron will host Coy0te Cares For Kids Cancer Charity Run Nov. 15. Registration is at 9 a.m., at BJ’s Cabana Bar, 2122 McCulloch Blvd. N. There will be raffles and live music.
