Lake Havasu City celebrated summer in style Sunday with the second annual Ice Cream Social sponsored by Elks Lodge No. 2399.
This year’s event benefited University of Arizona Steele Children’s Research Center. The center is committed to improving children’s health through basic science research, translational research and clinical research.
Helping children is a cause near and dear to the Elks Lodge Exalted Ruler, Debbie Herd. “I’m hoping to raise at least $2,000,” Herd said.

Havasuans enjoyed the all you can eat sundae and root beer float bar and live music to dance off some of the calories.
At least 200 ice-cream lovers of all ages attended with proceeds from ticket sales going to Steele Children’s Research Center. Funds were also raised through raffles and basket drawings donated by local businesses.
