Hundreds of people visited the HavaSlide Epic Event Saturday on McCulloch Blvd. in the Downtown Havasu District. This second annual event was sponsored by the Norona Effect, a local 501(c)3 nonprofit whose goal is to support, educate, and inspire action and to raise funds to give children up to 17 years of age access to life-saving blood transfusions in rural areas.
Attendees enjoyed a 50-foot dual drop Sky Slide and four other water structures. In addition, vendors, live bands, a DJ, food, and a beer garden added to the excitement.
New this year were performances by Team FMX. The group has performed extreme motorcycle stunt shows throughout North, Central, and South America since 2000. The team wowed the crowds with 5- to 10-minute shows from noon to 6 p.m.
All proceeds from the event will go to the Norona Effect to help build a pediatric infusion center in Lake Havasu and other rural areas.
