Food, music and lots of vendors from across the state, was the scene at the 30th annual Winterfest event this weekend. Businesses on McCulloch Boulevard also had an opportunity to invite visitors inside to see their merchandise. “This event not only allows vendors to showcase their products, but it also gives nearby businesses already here a chance to bring more business into their store,” said Lacy Blount with the Lake Havasu Area Chamber of Commerce.

The event drew in a lot of winter visitors and residents alike. Nearby restaurants and food booths offered a lot to choose from as well. From coffee, ice cream to hot dishes, there was something to fulfill every craving. Rick and Mary Lemke traveled from Minnesota to Lake Havasu City to see what the event had to offer. “They have similar events like this one back at home, said Lemke. “We were curious to see what items they had at Winterfest, so we came down here today.”
A family fun center with countless activities and even a bungee attraction in the kids’ zone entertained younger members of the family while adults checked out some home décor, jewelry and clothing offered for sale. Winter visitors also enjoyed bright and sunny weather while strolling from vendor to vendor. “I learned about this event from the hotel I was staying at,” said Anne-Marie Bourdeau-Lamote, who traveled from Canada. “I just can’t believe how beautiful the weather is out here in the middle of February. This is more like a summerfest for me.”
Each year, more vendors are added to the event and travel to showcase their items which in turn, offers a variety of items visitors are able to see and purchase. Next year, the Lake Havasu City Chamber promises to bring visitors and locals together with vendors and merchants to enjoy a weekend full of food and fun.
