Women’s Network Exchange Awards Scholarships to Local Women

Three local women were awarded a Women’s Network Exchange (WNEA) Scholarship to continue their educational goals at the Women’s Network Exchange June general meeting at the London Bridge Resort Thursday night.

Three $1,500 WNEA awards were presented to Sheena Waszkiewicz, from Fort Mohave, (pursuing her Nursing degree at Mohave Community College ); Erin Obermeyer,from Lake Havasu City, transferring to Arizona State University (ASU) studying accounting in the fall; and Melinda Wilhelm, From Lake Havasu City, studying nursing at Mohave Community College Lake Havasu City campus.

The Women’s Network Exchange of Arizona is a local 501 c3 organization dedicated to helping women over the age of 18 in La Paz and Mohave counties further their education by providing scholarships since 1999.

WNEA hosts two events  including the annual Shopping Extravaganza Sip and Shop event to raise funds for the scholarship program.

Through an application process, WNEA provides scholarships to local women who need extra help in achieving personal and career goals and who are working to advance their careers through continued education, and women who are returning to the work force.

This year, Women With Willpower, another nonprofit organization in  Lake Havasu City, donated to WNEA to sponsor one scholarship to one recipient.

Sheena Waszkiewicz was awarded a scholarship to continue her education at Mohave Community College.
