Summer break is just around the corner, which means families will be looking for activities to keep kids and families entertained when schools out.

Look no further since RiverScene Magazine has a guide below that lists local summer camps, events  and classes taking place during the summer months. Some are free, and others that include a fee.

Free kids Summer Movie Series

Star Cinemas, located at the Shops of Havasu, will offer Free Kids Movies Monday through Thursday, June 3 through July 18, at 10 a.m. Free for kids and families.

Movies Havasu, located at 180 Swanson Ave,,  will offer free movie viewing for kids  every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, beginning  June 3 through July 18 at 10 a.m. Free for kids and families.

 

 

Summer Camps

Lake Havasu City Parks And Recreation will offer Sunshine Kids Summer camps for grades first through sixth grade. Program runs June 10 through July 19. Monday through Friday. Fee : $305 for one child; additional child is $ 246.  Lunch is provided daily. First come first serve basis. See flyer below for more details.

Lake Havasu City Parks And Recreation will also offer Youth Adventure Camp for ages  9-14, June 10 through June 26. Beginning 8 a.m., May 21, Lake Havasu City Summer Recreation Programs will open for registration online and in person. Registration is limited and accepted on a first come, first serve basis. Lake Havasu City Parks and Recreation, in partnership with Kiwanis Club of Lake Havasu, is offering a free craft-themed camp July 10 through July 24.  All sessions are at the Aquatic Center. Register online or in person beginning May 21. For help with registration  call  928-453-8686.

 

Ballet Havasu Youth Summer of Fairytales Ballet Camp

Ballet Havasu will offer  summer of dance camps for youth. Whether a beginner or a seasoned dancer looking to refine skills, there is something for everyone.

 

Creative Dance for Ages 2.5 to 8 Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays for two weeks
Immerse young dancers in the magical world of Disney-themed activities. Each week concludes with a delightful performance.

Beginning Ballet Camp (Ages 5-8) $245:

Performance for Family and Friends

Creative Dance Camp (Ages 2.5-5) $105:

Dates: July 15, 17, and 19 (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday)

Ages 5-12,  June 3- July 12; Fee:$ 50 For Full Day or $40 for Half days. Deadline to register is June 3

 

Church/ Religious Bible Camps

Mount Olive Church will host a Bible Vacation School. Where students can explore what life was like when Jesus was a kid. Crafts and cool projects in the Marketplace, laugh during Bible-times games, visit with Jesus’ mom, Mary, and eat foods just like the ones Jesus ate. Plus, meet lots of new friends.

Hilltop Church Summer Sugar Rush Kid Camp

Educational

Havasu Prep Academy

Summer School for students currently in first- fourth grades,  will be offered this June. All Lake Havasu Students are welcome. Lake Havasu Prep Academy is located at 3315 Maricopa Ave.

 

Mohave County Library Summer Reading Adventure.

May 30 to July 13 for an exciting Summer Reading Program filled with books, prizes, and fun events for all ages. Save May 30 – July 13. FREE and open to all ages.

It is designed for everyone and meant to support literacy goals and strengthen reading skills outside of traditional school schedules. Participants can earn points and prizes by logging reading minutes, completing online challenges, and attending library hosted events. Free “Adventure” themed activities and educational programs for babies, toddlers, children, teens, and adults are planned and may include family story times, art and craft projects, group games, escape rooms, STEM programs, and much more! Summer College For Kids – Mohave Community College-Lake Havasu City Campus

College for Kids is back this year at Lake Havasu City, Mohave Community College. Hours are 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., and includes lunch and snacks for only $99 per session.

Ages are 8-10 and 11-12 years, sessions are Monday through Thursday June 10 – June 13, and June 24 – June 27. Some classes we will have include: Yoga, Culinary (Simple Lunches), Anatomy, Crafts, First Aid, CPR, Physical Therapy, Sewing, Handwriting, and Build a Solar Car.

Each child receives a T-Shirt, Backpack, Water bottle and a College for Kids Diploma. Enroll at  ce.mohave.edu or call 928-505-3319. Limited seats per age group.
