The 30th Annual Run for the Wall began Wednesday and will culminate in Washington, D.C. with a visit to the Vietnam War Memorial Wall and an always huge, thunderous motorcycle parade.

The website for the run states, “Founded by Vietnam Veterans, Run for the Wall® recognizes the sacrifices and contributions made by ALL VETERANS who have served our nation. Veterans of recent conflicts, those currently are on Active Duty, Non-Veteran Supporters, and Patriots are especially welcome to join and ride with us as We Ride for Those Who Can’t.”

There are three run routes across the country and Wednesday, over 1,000 riders began their journey on the West Coast.

About 400 riders passed through the Pilot intersection of State Route 95 and Interstate 40 Wednesday morning. Many stopped there to fuel up and continue the ride.

Each year, Lake Havasu City residents and veterans turn out to cheer the riders on and Wednesday was no exception.
