The Lake Havasu Area Chamber of Commerce hosted its Civics Bee Thursday evening at Lake Havasu High School.

In partnership with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation, the nonpartisan civics competition encourages sixth-, seventh-, and eighth-graders to engage in civics and contribute to their communities. Contestants have a chance to win recognition and cash prizes.

Finalists are invited to Washington, D.C, to compete in the National Civics Bee® national championship in Fall 2026.

At the competition Thursday, 20 students qualified and 17 participated.

After three rounds of competition, the top three winners are:

1st: Avery Mizia

2nd: Courtlyn Mackridge

3rd: Justin Dam

Congradulations to all of the students.
