Forty-five years is an incredible run for a charity event, but that’s exactly how long the Charity Pro-Am Bass Tournament to benefit New Horizons has been bringing the community together.
CEO for New Horizons center for people with special needs, Brooke Russell said, “We are here celebrating the 45th Charity Pro-Am Bass Tournament.
“Last night at Anderson Toyota, we had 200-plus people come in and register for the event, had a dinner and recognized our sponsors and at the same time did our auction.”

Russell said there were a total of 64 boaters entered to raise money for New Horizons.
The event has raised more than $700,000 for people with lifelong disabilities in Lake Havasu City.

“Today, we will be recognizing one through 21 places. Top places will get $3,000 all the way down to $100. We’ve got the Big Bass and it’s a great way for the community to come together on a very hot day,” she said.
Brian Ulmer was the weigher of the fish, with wife Meghan and Shaun Moline assisting.

Russell said Ulmer is the fishing director. And she said he also oversees the Weekend Warriors in Lake Havasu City.
The primary sponsors for the tournament were Anderson Toyota, Concord General Contracting, Sharq Skins Graphic Design and UniSource Energy, represented by Shaun Moline.

“They are the top super heroes that have come together to make this a special event and slew of other community support. It’s probably been one of the best years of community support as well as those who came out and donated auction items for the event last night.
“I’m very, very excited to be here with them and getting another year under our belt,” Russell said.
