With so many health trends and workouts out there, some residents in Lake Havasu City still enjoy the old fashion way of getting fit and healthy and that’s by simply walking the paths around town alone or with friend.
Some popular walking paths that have seen a growing number of walkers are Rotary Community Park and the Bridgewater Channel. Residents are finding that walking is about more than just an outing, but good for overall health.
“I come to walk daily because it’s healthy,” said Lake Havasu City resident, Ron Czeschin. I consider it my job now because I want to live longer.”

“One thing about walking is that it is the perfect form of exercise we need,” said Lake Havasu Resident Jerry Fries Li, who walks alongside his spouse every morning.

” I will be 70 years old, and this our daily routine to keep in shape.” Fries Li added.
“I love the views and talking to people each morning,”said Vivian Li.
Walkers, joggers and cyclists come regularly to see the outdoor amenities and year-round sunshine while catching up with a friend.

“I started walking because of Carmen. She is a co worker of mine, and got me into walking,” said Lake Havasu Resident Claudia Rivas. I like it because you see other people as well and they greet you as you walk by,” said Rivas. I love the views too.”
Near the Bridgewater Channel, walkers are often seen beneath the London Bridge while watching boats navigate the waterway connecting Thompson Bay to the main lake, which is also a common place to take a walk.

Walking the trail also give walkers views of boaters and those on paddleboards share the water with birds and local wildlife.
“Rotary Community Park and the Bridgewater Channel are the most beautiful areas in Lake Havasu City, so that is why I make it a point to walk over four miles everyday here,” said Lake Havasu Resident Ron Czeschin.
Walking with friends or a group outdoors has also encouraged fitness and well being by helping participants stay active while enjoying Lake Havasu City’s outdoor amenities.
However, while temperatures heat up, walkers are encouraged to go out earlier in the day, particularly on hot days to avoid over heating and or stay indoors on very excessive heat warning days.
“Summer of course gets pretty low key here because of the heat, of course. If you don’t come earlier in the day, it can sometimes be a scorcher,” said Czeschin.
The scenic views from these paths will no doubt continue to draw walkers seeking both exercise and a sense of community in Lake Havasu City. So grab a friend, a water bottle and make sure to monitor the weather, and get walking too!
