Lake Havasu City Outrigger Canoe Club racing teams were well represented in San Diego, Calif., May 13. Nineteen racers representing Lake Havasu City paddled in the “not so calm” Pacific Ocean.

Two women crews, one co-ed crew and two additional steerspersons paddled in the Hano Hano Outrigger Club 2017 Crystal Pier Race. They have been training for months to prepare for this race season.  The group walked away with a gold medal and a lot of happy paddlers.  The youngest paddler, Schyler Perez, steered an open women’s team in the 10-foot swells for the 12-mile-long course.
