The Tinnell Sports Park Committee is excited to announce the events for International Go Skateboarding Day on June 21, 2015. Go Skateboarding Day began in 2004 and was set on the first day of summer, by the International Association of Skateboard Companies (IASC).
This is a day for anyone and everyone to take a break from everything, get together with family and friends, and go skateboarding. We invite everyone who enjoys and supports skateboarding to join us in celebrating this day. Scooters, BMX bikes, and other self-powered wheels are welcome. This year we have partnered with Street League Skateboarding Foundation for our event. Our park is one of 20 Certified Street League Plazas in the world. Join us when we mob down McCulloch Blvd. Meet us in the city parking lot behind Edgardo Jewelers (2121 McCulloch Blvd.), across the street from the bowling alley. Sign-ups start at 4 pm. You must sign a liability waiver available at www.tinnellmemorialsportspark.com . Participants 17 and under must have a parent signature. Eight and under must be accompanied by a parent.
Go Skateboarding Day also happens to be Father’s Day.Dad’s,grab your skateboard or dust off that bicycle. We leave promptly at 6 pm escorted by Lake Havasu Police Dept. to the Tinnell Memorial Sports Complex in Rotary Park. It will be a fun day at the skatepark with giveaways from Street League Skateboarding and California Skateparks. There will also be a DJ until 10pm. We ask the public to be aware when driving around the McCulloch Blvd. area on Sunday, June 21st. There will be a large presence of skateboarders, scooters, and bike riders.
