Treasures of the Earth, Rough to Finished

Showcases hosted by The Lake Havasu Gem & Mineral Society(LHGMS) will be on display at City Hall from October 17-28. They display raw rock we prospect and then process into beautiful works of art. LHGMS has been an organization in Lake Havasu for more than 50 years. We are a non-profit club that promotes the study of geology, rocks, gems, and minerals, and all that comes from our earth. The club gives out scholarships to local high school students heading to college in the geology and science fields. The club holds classes on jewelry making, silversmith, copper bracelet making, safe use of lapidary shop saws, grinders, tumblers and polishers and kid’s classes on a regular basis.

We have our 52nd Havasu Gem & Mineral Show on November 12th 9:00am to 5:00 pm and 13th 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, at the Aquatic Center, 100 Park Ave. LHC. Cost $2.00, 12 and under free.

We have begun a building fund to enable our club to have a permanent home so we can continue our work and do more educational outreach and ensure the future of our organization. Building fund donations accepted at our Lake Havasu Lapidary Shop or mail to P O B 990, Lake Havasu City, AZ86405

LHGMS loves sharing our knowledge with our community. We want you to understand our unique geological area and the rock art we produce. We encourage you to come to City Hall and see the showcases, visit our Annual Show, visit our Rock Shop located in the Lake Havasu History Museum at 320 London Bridge Rd, and our Havasu Rocks Lapidary Shop at 278B London Bridge Rd, and join our organization.
