Even though weather prevented balloons from taking to the air Friday morning, there were still a number of activities for the family at the Lake Havasu Balloon Festival and Fair.
POW/MIA balloon pilot Luke Cesnik conducted a special ceremony honoring veterans and those who lost their lives in military service.
The Marine Corps League carried the Colors to a balloon where they were held for a moment of silence and then folded.
Four of the special shape balloons – The Armadillo Sheriff, Buster the Dog, Princess Nelly and Cosmic Crisp Apple balloons – fought the wind to inflate for spectators.
The Mohave County Sheriff’s K-9 unit performed a demonstration on the field and children launched paper balloons.
The Festival continues through Sunday with activities for the whole family.
