We were born in 2013 on the Central Coast of California, after our founder Steve Baird attempted “suicide by cop”. Our mission, get Veterans out of isolation, by playing sports! Softball, Bowling, and Billiards leagues for Veterans. Coupled with earning a one-of-a-kind jersey specific to the EchoVets group, by giving back to their communities in service.

We found a healing begin to take place. Isolation, and integration back into our communities at “our pace”, coupled with camaraderie, a hand up not out, and holding each other accountable. We then provide the purpose so many of us Veterans are missing, by performing community service with an incentive; that infamous jersey! This has virtually eliminated suicide within our community. For Veteran’s BY Veteran’s. Our entire focus is suicide prevention and elimination of Veteran homelessness. Peer support has proven to be the key in this mission we have.
Our Co-President, Stacy Lee, moved to Lake Havasu City, Arizona in 2021, and brought with her our first Chapter of the organization. We currently have our main group in California, and now have additional Chapters in Clarksville, TN, Lake Havasu City, AZ, and a virtual chapter in the MetaVerse called Second Life, thanks to Stacy Lee!
