Monday was declared C-SPAN in Lake Havasu City Day by Mayor Mark Nexsen at a brief ceremony under London Bridge.

As part of C-SPAN’s 2018 Cities Tour takes Book TV and American History TV on the road. Book TV (on C-SPAN2) and American History TV (on C-SPAN3) are featuring the literary life and history of each of these selected cities during special weekends on the public affairs network.

In partnership with Altice USA, C-SPAN producers will reveal the stories and segments that will be explored by the national network.  During their time in Lake Havasu City, C-SPAN producers will visit various literary and historic sites, interview local historians, non-fiction authors and conduct educational and community outreach in the area.

The producers will be around town throughout the next few days preparing the Lake Havasu City story to air in November.

The producers will be present at the Lake Havasu Musuem of History program Tuesday evening at the ASU Colleges at Lake Havasu City featuring Arizona writer Bob Boze Bell. Bell will be telling the tale of Olive Oatman, in addition to other anecdotal Arizona stories.

Doors open at 6:30 and the program will begin at 7 p.m. There will be a wine and cheese reception following the presentation to give folks an opportunity to meet the author as well as talk to the C-SPAN crew.

The programs C-SPAN produces in Lake Havasu City will air throughout a special Lake Havasu City feature weekend November 3-4 – literary programming on Book TV (on C-SPAN2) and history programming on American History TV (on C-SPAN3). Altice USA’s Suddenlink customers in the Lake Havasu City area can access C-SPAN2 on Suddenlink channel 27 and C-SPAN3 on Suddenlink channel 379.
