This week marks the fourth installment of the K.I.N.D. Project by RiverScene Magazine.

Kids Involved in Nice Deeds (K.I.N.D.) is a series that features students noticed by teachers around school who perform random acts of kindness without any prompt.

This week, RiverScene asked Jamaica Elementary School to keep an eye out for those being K.I.N.D. London Bridge Resort rewarded these K.I.N.D. students with a gift card to Yogurt Paradise.

Here is who was caught being K.I.N.D. this week at Jamaica Elementary School:

Isabelle Lawson, Kindergarten

“People were sharing and you need to share, because you should be nice and friendly.”

Sofia Lonial, First Grade

“You should be kind so they can treat you kind too.”

Maddox Milacki, First Grade

“If someone is having a bad day, you can say, ‘hey come play with me,’ and it makes them feel better.”

Makenna Weck, First Grade

“You don’t want to hurt people’s feelings by being mean. Be nice to your friends.”

Xander Comer, Second Grade

“It’s important [to be kind] because if they’re having a bad day, it could make it better. If you give them a smile it could brighten their whole day.”

Shayne Ibarra, Third Grade

“If you’re not kind to other people then you won’t have any friends.”

Bridget McCabe, Fourth Grade

“Being kind could have the [effect] of making others smile. Maybe they’re having a bad day, and being kind to them will make them happier.”

Collin Miller, Fourth Grade

“It’s important to be kind because it makes people smile, and smiles are contagious. Being kind causes them to be kind to someone else.”

Hailee Cole, Fifth Grade

“It’s important so other people like you … It helps you have more friends and be more successful.”

Kylin Sabatano, Sixth Grade

“Being kind always makes others feel good, and it makes you feel good. You never know what’s going on at home; school might be their safe place, and you don’t want to ruin that for anyone.”
