A new outpatient surgery center celebrated a ribbon cutting and open house Tuesday in Lake Havasu City.
Convergence Health Outpatient Surgery Center, located at the Shops at Lake Havasu, 5601 State Route 95 North, serves the city and surrounding communities.
“Our center provides outpatient surgical services with a focus on efficiency, comfort and safety,” said chief nursing officer Courtney Stansbury.
“We currently offer a wide variety of procedures, including orthopedics, general surgery, endoscopy, interventional cardiology, neuro/spine, and ophthalmology, and we are constantly looking to expand our service lines to meet the growing needs of the community,” she said.

Stansbury said that outpatient surgery centers like Convergence offer lower costs compared to hospital-based procedures, helping patients and insurers save on healthcare expenses.
The facility is primarily used for scheduled outpatient surgeries and procedures. Physicians and surgical teams utilize the center when caring for patients who are scheduled for their procedures, while ongoing patient consultations and follow-ups typically occur at their private physician offices or referring clinics.
“This model allows our team to focus on providing a seamless, personalized surgical experience in a state-of-the-art environment.”

Convergence brings many benefits including:
Convenience: High-quality surgical and imaging services are now available locally, reducing the need to travel to larger cities for care.
Cost-Effectiveness: Outpatient procedures are offered at a lower cost than hospital-based surgeries, with lower facility fees for patients and insurance companies.
Patient-Centered Care: Smaller, specialized surgical centers offer a comfortable and efficient experience, often allowing patients to go home the same day.
Local Economic Impact: By attracting surgeons and specialty services, the center supports healthcare growth and job opportunities within the community.
The center was developed to meet the growing need for accessible, high-quality surgical services in Lake Havasu. It was founded by Jarrett Portz and David Lutz, who shared a vision of bringing a state-of-the-art, efficient outpatient surgical option to the region.
Jarrett Portz, a Lake Havasu City resident, was especially passionate about creating a facility that would reflect the needs and values of his hometown community.

In collaboration with local physicians and healthcare professionals, they designed a modern, AAAHC-accredited ambulatory surgery center that prioritizes safety, quality and an exceptional patient experience.
The center is open Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. and procedures are performed by appointment.
