September 17-24 is Constitution Week. These events are open to the public.

Wednesday at 8am, join Professor Rob Natelson at the London Bridge Resort Convention Center for “How to read the Constitution.” Seminar fee is $20

According to the Constitution Week Website: 

In 1955 the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) petition congress to recognize Constitution Week on a national level.  On August 2, 1956 President Eisenhower signed Constitution Week into law.

Identified as US Code 36-108.

The code states that the President of the United States is requested to issue each year a proclamation to designate September 17-23 as Constitution Week and inviting the people of the United States to observe Constitution Week, in schools, churches, and other suitable places with appropriate ceremonies and activities.

Constitution Week is committed to the annual national observance of the United States Constitution.  Our mission statement is to educate, promote and celebrate the greatest governing document that changed the world!  The United States Constitution!  The question which should be asked is: “if we as a country would have followed in the footsteps as requested by President Eisenhower, Daughters of the American Revolution and the U. S. Congress would our country be so divided today?” (US Code 36-108)

This week of recognition is not about political parties!  This event caters to those who are supportive of the United States Constitution and desire to learn more about the American Founding with emphasis on its origin, philosophy and interpretation.
